Escape this weekend to Havana and learn about Cuba’s vibrant culture!! Experience Cuba first-hand with our exciting 4-day educational and cultural program. Explore the city, important points of interest, enjoy Cuban art and music, and dip your toes in the richness of Cuba. Meet with a community organization and dialogue with experts on various pressing issues.

In addition to scheduled activities, our programs provide you with multiple opportunities to meet and interact with Cuban people from all walks of life. Take advantage of the chance to exchange ideas and perspectives with you new Cuban friends.

You will be hosted by professional, bilingual coordinators who will expertly guide through your Cuba adventure!

Prices start from $800 based on the type of accommodations and the number of travelers (generally between 2 and 8 participants). Price based on double room occupancy (We will do our best to accommodate double room request for solo travelers, but we cannot guarantee availability. If a suitable room mate is not available, you will be required to pay the single room rate ($100).

Day 1
Welcome, orientation meeting and modern Havana

Arrival in Havana. Airport pick-up

Orientation meeting with local coordinators over lunch

Check-in at Hotel Riviera or similar (3 PM approximately)

Drive tour to Vedado and Miramar 

Visit the Revolution Square, the Malecon and the Miramar Trade Center

Dinner on your own – Our local coordinator will offer suggestions for places to have dinner

Day 2
Old Havana, History and Arts

Walking tour in Habana Vieja

Explore the historical and oldest district of Havana; walk along Plaza Vieja, Mercaderes street, Plaza de Armas, and the Cathedral Square to enjoy colonial architecture and learn about the history of the foundation of the city, development and traditions

Visit to Taller La Gafrica in Old Havana, engraving workshop and arts shop

Lunch at a paladar (included)

Visit to the Museum of Revolution

Follow the steps of the History of Cuba since pre-Columbian times until current days

Optional cultural activities – Our local coordinator will give you suggestions of cultural activities going on in Havana

Day 3
Arts project and Eastern Havana

Visit the Callejón de Hamel, a street cultural center led by painter and muralist Salvador González Escalona. His internationally known artwork deals with the roots and influences of African religions in Cuba

Visit to Cojimar, the fishing village that inspired Hemingway's The Old Men and the Sea

Seafood lunch at a paladar (included)

Excursion to Santa Maria Beach

Return to the hotel and dinner on your own

Optional visit to the Fábrica de Arte Cubano, an old cooking oil factory that has been restored and is now the venue for concerts and exhibits of vanguard art in Cuba

The cost includes the following:

  • Hotel accommodations in Hotel Iberostar Riviera or similar (4*) for 3 nights in Havana
  • Daily breakfast at hotel and a second meal as indicated in the program
  • Transfers available for recommended flights. If you select a flight or airline arriving outside of this time frame, you will have to arrange your own transfer. Taxis fare typically run between 20 and 30 CUC per car
  • Ground transportation for all scheduled activities in Havana
  • Entrance/Program fee associated with scheduled activities (unless otherwise indicated)
  • Fees/honoraria for institutions
  • Expenses for Cuban participants (coordinator, guides, drivers and others)
  • Program coordination as it is indicated in the tentative itinerary, translations and expert tour guides
  • Administrative overhead fees
